Simien Mountains Trekking by Air & Surface.
Duration: 13Days, 12 Nights.
Day1: Bishoftu Lakes Tour & Travel welcomes you on your arrival in Addis Ababa at Bole International Air port and transfers you to Ghion Hotel. Overnight Ghion Hotel.
Day2: Fly Addis Ababa to Gondar and City tour.
After Breakfast transfer to Bole International Air port to fly to Gondar. Upon arrival at Gondar, drive 17 kms to Hotel for Lunch and check in. P.M. visit the Castel compound, Debere Birhan Silassie and the Fasiladas Bath. Overnight Goha Hotel.
Day3: Drive Gondar- Debark- Sankaber. (138kms).
Drive to the extraordinary and majestic Semien Mountains National park. On this drive you will have your first impression of the scale and beauty of this high land region. Over night camping at Sankaber.
Day4: Sankaber to Geech (5hrs, trekking).
Sankaber to Geech camp- descend in to the Koba River valley and up the other steep side to Michots with its view of the large water fall where the Jinbar River cascade in to the Geech Abyss. Over Night Geech camp site.
Day5: Trekk Geech t Cenek (5hrs. trekking)
Walk from Geech to Chenek through Imetgogo with its staggering views over the lowlands with its rock spires. Chenek is the best place to see the endemic Walia Ibex and Gelada Baboon. Over night camping at Cenek.
Day6: Trekk Chenek to Ambiquo.
Today the Horses will head direct to the camp site of Ambiquo, making an ascent of the Simien Mountain's second highest peak, Buhit, giving an excellent views over the whole area. Over night camping at Ambiquo.
Day7: Trek Ambiquo to Rasdashen to Ambiquo (8-10hrs)
Start walking to Mount Rash Dashen, the highest peak in Ethiopia. This day is the most challenging day of the whole trekking. On this day you see different endemic mammals and birds .Over night camping at Ambiquo.
Day8: Trek Ambiquo to Sona (7-9) hrs.
On this day you will be able to see silk wild kend. Over night camping.
Day9:Trek Sona to Mekarebia(2-4)hrs.
We descend for about 2 hrs. and we cross a River. On this River we stay for about two hours to swim and wash some clothes and walk to Mekarebia. Over night camping at Mekarebia.
Day10: Trek Mekarebia to Mulit.
On the way to Mulit once again we will stop to swim at a River. After noon we ascend for about 2hours before we reach Mulit. Over night camping.
Day11: Trek Mulit to Adiarkay (2-3) hrs and drive to Gondar.
We have a two hours drive to Adiarkay, the very small town. Here we will be waited by our Vichels and picked up to Gondar. Over Night Goha Hotel.
Day12: Fly Back to Addis Ababa, Farewell Dinner and Evening Departure.
Fly back to Addis Ababa and make city tour of Addis Ababa that includes: The National Musiume, Entoto and Merkato, the largest open air market in African & shopping.
