The company is named after a town found in the Oromiya Regional State of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. This town is given the name Bishoftu for it is surrounded by six lakes which have got spectacular features and views. Bishoftu means land of waters. This town is also known for its most venerated Oromo festival known as Eracha, which is celebrated one week after the Ethiopian Meskel Festival.
